1. This is a microfluidic device that is capable of separating out T cells from whole blood by affinity chromatography in a simple, low budget setting.
2. While they plan on making this low budget and affordable, how feasible is it to have a microscope in a low budget clinic. This seems like it would make quantification a large challenge.
3. Other methods of quantification other than a microscope, like an automated chip based on fluorescent readings or something. Maybe some other way to collect, label, and quantify captured cells other than a scope.

For some reason I couldn't post this under the blog for the journal club. It is still acting strange for me and I don't know why. This is the only place it would let me post.

1. Microfluidic devices can be useful for immobilizing cells counting on antibody layers for counting, in this case to diagnose HIV progression in T cells
2. Is the distribution of CD4+ T cells equal throughout the human circulatory system in HIV infected patients? Is there any concern that using such a small volume of blood could give skewed, unrepresentative results?
3. Current methods for HIV testing in poor countries, immunohistochemistry description
4. I wonder if there might be some way to count the cells in a mechanical way rather than by microscopic observation, so that almost no training would be needed to use this testing device
